Empire State Surveyor Association members receive a subscription to the national award winning magazine which provides updates on legislative and regulatory information, current events, association activities, as well as useful articles for the licensed Land Surveyor.

Regional Meetings With 18 Regional Associations statewide, regional meetings are held monthly and often feature guest speakers and informative programs.

Annual Conference/Professional Development Member discounts are provided for professional development courses, including our Annual Surveyors Conference featuring over 20 educational seminars, networking events, and the largest tradeshow in the Northeast. The annual conference is an excellent opportunity to network and learn from other industry professionals. In addition, NYSAPLS conducts seminars in convenient locations throughout the state designed to offer affordable quality continuing education.

Legislative Representation NYSAPLS has an extremely active Legislative/Executive Committee which works closely with the association's lobbyist in Albany to promote the goals and initiatives of the organization. Legislation and regulations impacting the surveying profession are regularly monitored. Members can view legislative issues on our website by clicking the Advocacy option on the left.

Website The NYSAPLS website consists of numerous resources for members and the public. The on-line membership directory is a useful tool utilized by consumers to locate a licensed Land Surveyor. Member licensees are listed both alphabetically and by county. Members may also use the site to post classified ads, such as employment postings.

Awards/Scholarships The Arthur D. Shaw Memorial Fund provides educational assistance to undergraduate students to ensure the future of the land surveying profession. Awards recognizing achievements in the land surveying profession are awarded annually.

Public Relations NYSAPLS goal is to positively influence the public's perception of the Land Surveyor and educate the public about the role and responsibilities of the professional surveyor.

Leadership Development Members can expand their professional horizons by participating on a committee either as a member or as a chair. Active committee participation provides a wonderful opportunity to take a leadership role in local, state, and professional affairs, while developing personal leadership style and establishing wide range contacts.

Business and Professional Services NYSAPLS provides a headquarters office with two full-time staff members to assist with questions and concerns, and to provide up-to-date accurate information regarding the land surveying profession in New York.
